Christhchurch Convention Centre links

Christchurch, New Zealand's most charming city, has been created with the pleasure of its inhabitants in mind. Centrally situated within the city is New Zealand's only purpose-built convention centre. The halls of the new Christchurch Convention Centre comprise over 1,864 square metres of pillarless and carpeted flat floor space, an ideal environment for conventions, exhibitions, trade shows and gala events of all types. The design incorporates a glass-fronted foyer, main hall with 8m high ceiling and capacity to seat 2,200 delegates theatre style or 1,350 at a gala dinner. Seven break-out rooms on the first floor can be configured to accomodate between 30 and 130 delegates each.

The Christchurch Convention Centre is connected to the Town Hall performing arts and cultural complex by a pedestrian airbridge. For larger conventions and events, the venues operate as one exceptionally versatile unit. These premier public assembly facilities are designed for one thing - to help people meet people.

conference management
The Vbase professional team of event coordinators provide full support to event planners before and during all events. The event services team will co-ordinate all in-house services and outside contractors, to client specifications.

business centre
Business centre services are available as requested on an event basis.

catering
Full, on-site, 5 star catering services are available, covering requirements from cocktail function snacks to silver service gala banquets. Staff will customise a menu to suit a themed function or special requirements.

telephones
Event telephones and internet connections can be arranged and extensions are available in all venue rooms.

teleconferencing and videoconferencing
Microwave links and ISDN circuits can be connected, instantly providing an international link.

heating and air conditioning
The entire complex is climate controlled and staff are on hand throughout events to make any necessary adjustments.

equipment hire
For trade shows and exhibitions, the event management team will organise the hire of specific items, including display panels. Detailed floor plans are available from the events management team.

accessibility
The events management team will work to ensure that full delegate support is provided. The complex's public areas, rest rooms, food and beverage facilities and telephones provide no barriers to the physically challenged. Special apparatus, such as listening devices, are available on request.
