| More than 1400 women from 30 countries will be arriving in Christchurch for the triennial International Inner Wheel 13th Convention, being officially opened at the Convention Centre by Her Excellency the Governor General Dame Silvia Cartwright on 4 May. The meetings will use the Convention Centre, Town Hall and Westpac Centre from 3-6 May. |

| December 2005:Westpac Centre makes top 10 Venues |
| The 8888-seat Westpac Centre in Christchurch has ranked number 10 in the world for venues under 10,000 seats for gross ticket sales for 2005 – a stunning achievement that puts the New Zealand venue right behind North American centres with far greater population hinterlands to draw on. It is the only venue outside North America inside the top ten. |
